Concept
In the beginning there was just an empty meadow in the middle of some picturesque mountains. Now a spaceship from the MIURA constellation, which has brought a family of 5 Cuboids on holiday, is parked here. And we are afraid they are never going to want to fly back home!
The team behind the whole concept is the LABOR13 architectural studio in Prague, led by Albert Pražák, Martin Vomastek and Jiří Bardoděj. Other leading figures from the world of design, such as Lucie Koldová, Vladimír Ambroz, Jerry Koza, and companies such as 3DH Interier, AMOSDESIGN, Konsepti, KLAFS, Bang&Olufsen and Artemide, have also contributed to the project.
The architecture of the whole building is as rugged as the surrounding mountains but also cosy where it should be. The main material used is concrete, on the outside combined with rusting Corten steel sheets and purple glass. The shell of the building consists of cembonit cladding. Inside the concrete alternates with wood, stainless steel sheets and Corian.
The whole building is divided into 3 parts, one of which freely levitates above the ground. The hotel rooms are located in the side buildings of the hotel and all of them face towards the south and the golf course. Some of them have balconies and an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. The apartments even have glass walls with a view of Lysá hora and Ondřejník. The reception area is in the central part of the building along with the lobby bar and south terrace, the night bar and restaurant and the south balcony. Below ground there are 2 conference rooms and the hotel's pride and joy - the Miura spa. Lighting for the whole hotel was provided by the Italian manufacturer of design lighting, Artemide. The furniture is by, amongst others, the design manufacturers Moroso, Kartell, Alias, Pedralli, Poliform, Paola Lenti, Magis, KFF and Vondom. There is also furniture in the hotel that was designed especially for this project, for example the levitation beds in the private spa (Lucie Koldová), the carbon table in the Boardroom (Jerry Koza) and the cosmic tables which you will find in various colours throughout the hotel (Vladimír Ambroz).
The entire hotel is literally riddled with art, like no other hotel in the world. As you walk through the hotel you come across art in places where you perhaps would not even expect it ...
